After already soaring through 2021 with the successful release of their dance single 'View' in early Feb. DROVES return with an Australiana-Dance Rock anthem called 'Time'.
Heavily inspired by The Go-Betweens' 'Streets of Your Town', 'Time' is DROVES' most stark remark to their stylistic dark pop. The group's blend of pop, rock and synth precursors all ceremonially melt into one another in an undeniably visceral manner. DROVES continuously hold the tenacious excitement of punk that's sequenced through a greyscale disco ball.
Recorded, mixed and mastered at Sydney's The Brain Studios by Clayton Segelov and Angie Watson. Vocally the song features vocalists Taylor McAuliffe and Phillip Spiteri weaving parallel stories on the dependency of the working class using alcohol as a means of escape.
This is another monumental stride for a band that spent the last three years emphatically carving out their place in the Australian music landscape while their latest headline shows sold out just a few hours after announcement. Beyond Australian shores, music fans around the world are beginning to take notice of DROVES as seen with streaming goliath, Spotify USA, featuring 'Retribution' on their 'Fresh Finds' playlist and their single 'Cannibals' making waves in Mexico City.
